Barcelona intend to renew this 3-player contract
Barcelona is rumored to be starting a contract renewal negotiation with three of its flagship players. They are Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, and Gerard Deulofeu.
The player’s third contract expires on 30 June 2019. Barcelona are reportedly intending to extend their contract because they do not want the Neymar case to recur.
Neymar pulled out of Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window 2017. PSG redeemed the Brazilian release clause of 222 million euros (Rp 3.4 trillion).
In his new contract, Barcelona is suspected of updating the release clause of Sergi Roberto, Pique, and Deulofeu. Sergi Roberto, for example, who is rumored to have only a release clause of 40 million euros.
Referring to the transfer activity last summer, it was nominally possible to redeem another club. Therefore, Barcelona intends to fence the player by extending the contract and raising the nominal release clause.
After Neymar leave, Barcelona hit by a complicated problem about the contract of his players. Lionel Messi, for example, who currently has not held an official event extension of the contract, although Barcelona claims to have reached an agreement.
So far, Barcelona has just announced a contract extension of its players, namely Luis Suarez (until 2021), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (2022), Ivan Rakitic (2021), and Sergio Busquets (2021).
